We hired Ben to work on multiple projects in our home starting in late 2006 and finishing in early 2007. The projects included two full bathroom remodels and the priming and painting of three large rooms and ceilings. The bathroom remodels included complete replacement of the showers/tubs, install of ceramic tile showers, install of ceramic tile floors, and the install of new vanities, sinks and toilets.
Going into the projects there were four factors we were considering when evaluating potential companies:
Ben exceeded our expectations in all four areas. We recommend him to our friends and would work with him again.
Quality of the work: Though the work is completed in a reasonable timeframe, nothing is rushed at the expense of it turning out right. Ben has great attention to detail and will notice things and address things that you will never even think about. An example of this is in painting our rooms, he took the initiative to paint all of our trimwork as well in order to spruce it up a bit. We never asked him to do this, but when the job was completed it made a huge difference. The experience he brings to the table allows him to see some things ahead of the job being completed and provide those extras that you may not have thought about.
Timing and Scheduling: Whenever you have a large project going on in your house, you have inconvenience. Ben lessoned our inconvience by completing the job on schedule. Ben provides honest and predictable plans upfront that give the true picture of the work involved and does not mislead the homeowner at the beginning or at any point during the project. If circumstances cause the plan changes or the schedule to delay, Ben will be upfront with you about that change.
Cost: Ben's quotes were competitive and often more affordable than the other potential companies involved.
Trust: You cannot put a pricetag on your trust in the contractor. It was a major bonus to be able to feel comfortable leaving a key to Ben and knowing he will show up for work every day, complete his daily work, and take care of your home in the process. Our dog has still not gotten over the completion of the work. If our dog takes you in as a family member, than we know we’ve found a trustworthy contractor.
Again, we highly recommend doing business with Ben Widman Home Services. We were extremely pleased with the end results and we do not believe we would have received the personal attention we received with any other company.
